Is Matomo really free?
Matomo On-Premise is 100% free and open source under the GPL v3 license. You can download, install, and use it on your own servers without paying anything to Matomo.
Matomo Cloud is a paid hosted service starting at around 23 EUR/month. Some premium plugins (heatmaps, session recordings, A/B testing) are paid add-ons for On-Premise users but included in certain Cloud plans.
