How do heatmaps and session recordings work in Matomo?
The Heatmap & Session Recording plugin (premium) captures where visitors click, move their mouse, and scroll on your pages. Heatmaps show aggregated behavior as color overlays. Session recordings replay individual visitor sessions as video.
Both features require the plugin to be installed and activated. Data is stored on your server (not sent to a third party). You can configure which pages to record and set sampling rates to control storage usage.
